Fresh Water Norway has a license from Porsgrunn county to tap 1 billion liters of pure Norwegian mineral water annually. Porsgrunn sources its water from Valleråsen waterworks, which is supplied with water from Lake Farris and Mjøvann. The water is filtered, without losing key nutrients, to ensure the highest quality drinking water.Laboratory reports show that the Telemark basin ranks among the best drinking waters in Europe. The water was named the best drinking water in Norway in 2013. It contains a high pH value of about 7.9-8.2

The palatability of drinking water has been rated by panels of tasters in relation to its TDS level as follows: excellent, less than 300 mg/litre; good, between 300 and 600 mg/litre; fair, between 600 and 900 mg/litre; poor, between 900 and 1200 mg/litre; and unacceptable, greater than 1200 mg/litre*

The 1,5L will have a shelf life stamp of 2 years. All water containers have shelf life stamps as it is required by the EU. But do bear in mind that it is a ´best before, good after´ stamp.

No. The only process Fresh Water Norway’s water goes through at the factory is a UV light filter. This is a very safe and healthy last “cleaning” process that will ensure top quality water with all the minerals intact

Plant based materials are renewable and they re/use the CO2 already present in the atmosphere in contrast to fossil based raw materials that increase the CO2 in the atmosphere. Hence, Plant based materials leave a lower footprint than fossil based raw materials. see below graph, numbers and comparisons:

Yes. The brick shape of the carton allows for optimal storage when full as the amount of air left between the cartons when stacked is minimal, especially compared to cylinder formed bottles. When empty, the cartons can be flat packed to take up minimal space or burnt in an incinerator. It is also easier to store flat packed carton than “flat packed” water bottles.

Transport typically has a very small impact, especially bulk transport by boat. Typically transport is 2-3% of total carbon impact. In addition, transportation from our factory to the container vessel is abt 200 meters, which excludes heavy transportation on trucks thousands of miles to reach a container harbour.
The cartons are transported on paper rolls. 1,5 million carton “bottles” only requires 1 truck, while fully formed PET bottles require approx 13 trucks and “pre-form”* PET bottles require approx 2,5 trucks for the same amount of containers.
”Pre-form” is a condensed version of a plastic bottle before it is heated and blown into a bottle shaped mold.
Directly from our new, state of the art bottling plant in Telemark, our Fresh Norwegian Water is packaged into 40 ft Containers, each of which holds in excess of 15,500 boxes of 1.5 Ltr Cartons.
These containers are then dispatched internationally from the local seaport of Brevik, Norway.
